two goals by substitute amodou abdullei earned f91 dudelange their second 2-0 triumph against fc santa coloma in the space of a week to send the champions of luxembourg through to the uefa champions league second qualifying round.
as in the first leg, dudelange struggled to break down the visitors' defence before the interval despite dominating possession for long periods. bryan melisse was a particular thorn in santa coloma's side with his marauding runs from midfield but the hosts must have feared that a night of frustration awaited when jean-sébastien legros, who scored in the first leg, crashed a shot against the bar seven minutes into the second half.
three minutes later coach daniel theis sent on abdullei and the substitution reaped rewards as the nigerian forward planted jean-philippe caillet's cross past ricardo fernández five minutes after his introduction. three aggregate goals to the good, dudelange could now relax but abdullei remained sharp, pouncing again a minute from time after a neat passing move involving legros and daniel da mota.
the win means dudelange have earned the right to face nk maribor in the next round, with the first leg taking place in slovenia on 12 july.
